What if today was your last day? Would you go to Heaven or Hell? Here’s a quick test….Have you ever told a lie? If so, that makes you a liar. Have you ever stolen anything? That makes you a thief in God’s eyes. Jesus said “if you look with lust you’ve already committed adultery in your heart” Have you every looked with lust? Have you ever hated anyone? That’s murder in God’s eyes! If we’re honest we’ll see that we’re Lying, Thieving, Murderous, Adulterers at heart. If God is Holy (set apart) and is ultimately perfect and according to His Word requires everything in His presence to be perfect as well , then if He judged you according to His absolutely perfect standard do you think you would be innocent or guilty? Should God send you to Heaven or Hell?” In the Book of James, the Bible says that if you break only one commandment, you’re guilty of ALL of them. Breaking God’s law is called sin. Sin leads to death (Rom 6:23a), and death for the unsaved leads to hell. The Bible says that “Wrongdoers will not enter the kingdom of God” (1 Cor. 6:9-10). Hell is described in the Bible as a place of eternal torment, a place where inexplicable suffering awaits those who died in their sins (Rev 21:8). Do you know what God did so you wouldn’t have to spend eternity in Hell? It’s so important. God sent His son, Jesus Christ to earth – He lived a perfect and sinless life, but went to the cross to die for your sins (1 John 2:2) – God’s punishment and wrath was poured out on Christ that day. Christ died and was buried – But on the third day Christ rose again, forever defeating death and the grave. Many think if they just believe in God, and live a good life, they’ll go to Heaven. But the Bible says that it’s only through God’s grace through faith in Christ that we’re saved (Eph 2:8-9). The time is coming when all men everywhere will be judged in righteousness (Acts 17:31), and God commands that we repent (turn from our sins) and put our faith in Him. Before your head hits the pillow tonight, I pray you’ll consider these things, and get right with God. Cry out to Him, repent and believe the Gospel (Mrk 1:15) – then read your bible and pray, get into, and be active in a bible believing church.
